Event Description

Local high school teachers interested in teaching an interdisciplinary science at the high school level are encouraged to participate in this new event. This event will include:

-Talks that will outline the benefits and challenges of teaching an interdisciplinary science to high school students.

-Demonstrations of economical and engaging experiments which are easy to recreate in a classroom setting.

-Speakers will include Chris Miller, Brandies University, a former high school science teacher, and Margaret Cheung, University of Houston, who mentors high school students and works with local science teachers to prepare interactive lesson plans.

After the High School Teachers Event, join us for an afternoon of science education events for both teachers and their students:

-A special Exhibit Hall Tour, where teachers and students can interact with exhibitors as they give hands-on presentations, demonstrating how science happens in a laboratory setting.

-Admittance to the Biomolecular Discovery Dome, an audio-visual immersion experience that takes you inside the world of cells and viruses.
