It's all over the news...What is the opinion of San Diego scientists regarding swine flu (not flue - thanks Chris)? In particular:

1. Is it a cause for concern, or overblown media hype?
2. What are the most effective ways to avoid it?
3. What is the least useful or most erroneous advice regarding it?

I think its overblown but I can understand worrying about something new. But then again hundreds of thousands more people die periodically from aids, cancer, diabetes while the swine flu has only killed a few hundred and only because they waited to be treated. I would be more scared of the regular flue or other diseases. If the media would take the hype on obesity and diabetes maybe we would all be better off.

It's flu (virus) not flue (pipe).
