Student Spokesperons / Scholarships

The Nanotechnology Research Foundation (NRF) is seeking one young man and one young woman, ages 15-20 to become spokespersons for our organization on a volunteer basis and with the potential of securing total or partial funds towards a scholarship for a college or university of their choice.

The Spring 2009 Scholarship Challenge is NRF’s first awareness and educational campaign with a national fundraising effort as an important part of this event. Our student spokespersons will be leading the way by sharing their stories, goals and dreams, meanwhile educating and bringing awareness to other students, parents, teachers and general public.

bionano_fall2007lowres.pdfHi, have you heard of the research being conducted in Calabria about membranes? the center is called Institute
for Membrane Technologies at the University of Calabria.

re: desalinization technology and nanotech: I'm curious as to whether nanotech has the potential for some innovative solutions relating to either more efficient membranes or ways of effectively allowing the current style membranes under water, allowing the membrane to function under marine conditions without crudding up, etc. I'm happy to talk privately under NDA or publicly though this forum... munnecke@gmail.com

Dear NANO people, does any of you know of upcoming TB-related events in San Diego?

I am particularly interested in innovative applications of nano tech for desalinization.

Is anyone familiar with U.S. Nanocorp, a privately held company in CT? I read an article on their lithium-oxygen battery technology at http://mdatechnology.net/update.aspx?id=a5358. It sounds like greater energy density than a hand grenade.

I am curious as to the general direction that nanotechnology is taking in San Diego. Will San Diego be as competitive a market as San Francisco? Does anyone have a feel for this?

Boston and San Fran appear to have the nanotech market in the bag, is it worth investigating the San Diego area as a market with true potential?

Predicting which particular aspects of Nanoscience will turn into a product is very difficult. What is 100% sur that some of them will.
