Our mission is to be the Central Hub for Events, News, and Careers for the San Diego Science Community. We accomplish this by providing an easy to use web platform where visitors can create a personal profile, post or sign up for events, and submit news articles. MySDScience.com was created by local scientists inspired to help foster a more cohesive community and allow for innovation to flourish. We help facilitate scientific collaborations, professional development, and event sharing while highlighting the latest San Diego science news. Join thousands of other scientists, engineers, students, post-docs, professors, entrepreneurs, executives and become part of the community!
Career development:
MySDscience strives to help people find their next carreer step and also help companies find the right talent. The best way to find your next career move is networking. We help by making it easy for you to find the next conference, symposium, or mixer to go and network in person. We also make it very easy to create a profile where you can highlight your background and interests. Companies seeking to hire can post and promote job ads and search for talent within the network.
History:
MySDscience was concieved in 2008 by ScholarNexus, a local consulting firm led by local scientists. During that time the team was helping to organize the first San Diego Science Festival, led by Larry Bock. The festival energized the science community and created long lasting collaborations. We felt there was a need to keep that enthusiasm of collaborationand community throughout the year. Since then, we have kept growing and added many new features to keep making it easier to share events, news, jobs, and to network.
