K- 12 Science Art Challenge with BioEASI and the San Diego Science Festival
Calling all Teachers (K-12th). One way to connect students to science is through art. They get to express what they know about science in a creative way. Show off your student’s creation by entering their work to the K-12 Science Art Contest!! Simply have your students create an art piece about science (see themes below) and submit it to us (instructions to submit are below).

1. Health
2. Environment
3. Technology
Prizes for each age group:
1st Prize Winners (three total):

Ipod Shuffle, Art Kit, and a Biology Kit
2nd and 3rd place winners:
Art Kit and a Biology Kit
Rules:
• A student must create it without help from parents (other than
providing materials if necessary)
• All art entries must be submitted digitally on MySDscience.com
(instructions below).
• Each art piece must include the students name, Teacher’s name,
grade level, and school.
• Students can use any medium of their choice.
• Art piece must also include the theme.
• There will be various levels of competition depending on the
grade level: Grades K-5th, 6-8th, and 9th-12th.
• All participating teachers must turn in their student's pieces of
art by March 15th, 2009 to allow ample time for judging and
preparation.
Submit your student’s Art: (DEADLINE HAS PASSED
March 15th)
1. Simply go to the photo
uploader on MySDcience.
2. Upload your student's scanned or photographed image.
3. Then fill out the form below and press submit.

All Art pieces will be displayed on a projector through out the Expo Weekend. The top winning art pieces for each grade level will be displayed and awarded a prize at the 2009 Science Festival on April 4th at the BioEASI expo booth. Festival attendees will help to decide the top-winning piece for each grade level.
