What is the SD Science Social Club?
It’s the new social club organized by MySDscience where you can mix and mingle without the need to share your work story or find someone a job. It will be monthly events that will allow you to step out of the lab and have fun with individuals with similar interests as you. We won't hang out at a seminar or yet another conference. We will organize a variety of events outside of the "lab environment" and allow you to enjoy and experience fun activities with other scientists.
What do I have to do to be part of the new SD Science Social Club? You first have to be a member of MySDscience. Then you fill out the SD Science Social Club registration form and pay a one year $25 membership fee. Once registered, you will receive follow-ups, first priority invitations, discounts to all the Social Club events, a free MySDscience T-Shirt, and prizes and discounts from partner organizations.

Whale Watching Trip has been reschedule for Saturday, Feb 27th at 1pm
For those who could not make it before now is your chance to join the group.

For those of you that were signed up before and for those of you that still want to join in this great opportunity to see mirgating whales during peak whale watching season, we have rescheduled the tour for Saturday the 27th. Due to rough seas we were cancelled once again, but I am hopeful that the weather will be on our side this time. (I mean we don't live in Seattle for goodness sake!!).
Our Whale & Dolphin Watching Adventure aboard Hornblower includes a live narration by their professional Captains and hands-on interaction with Whalers, trained naturalists from the San Diego Natural History Museum. They are experts at locating the migrating whales, and will help us to spot them, as they teach us interesting facts about the whales, other sea life and local geography. This adventure offers an exhilarating and comfortable ocean experience. Seasonal Mid-December through early April.
Boarding begins at 1:15pm/ Departs 1:30pm

Come join us either for the first time – or come back again for this unique experience! San Diego’s very own Stone Brewing Company continues to demonstrate that they are masters of complex beers and tastes, almost easily weaving together diverse flavors to form unique beers. On this private guided tour, you will learn about their philosophy, the brewing process and the craft brewing industry. You’ll see the inner workings of their new 55,000 square foot brewery here in Escondido. Our tour will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and will be followed by a guided tasting of their phenomenal beers.
