What would science have done with $1,000,000,000,000+ (the cost of Iraq War)

I came across this article on CNN and it really hit home (not that it hadn't already)...but this time it really hit home. Our government has spent an incredible 1 TRILLION dollars (some say upto 3) on the Iraq war. We could have sequenced every American's genome and had plenty of change left over.
